Il y a de ces masses sonores qui pénètrent sous la peau comme seule peut le faire une bestiole dont la fonction première est de dérégler tout organisme. C’est le cas de la musique d’Étienne O’Leary composée à Paris durant la turbulente décennie soixante.
Y a-t-il une spécificité de la webtélé de fiction ? Quelque caractère qui la définisse et qui permette de la distinguer des autres types de dramatique télévisuelle? Je ne parle pas ici des éléments par trop évidents et qui regardent surtout son format : brièveté, économie de moyen, etc., mais bien d’un rapport spécifique qu’elle développerait avec son spectateur, comme le cinéma et la télé, d’une esthétique en quelque sorte qui dépende du lieu – l’ordinateur, le téléphone portable – où elle est ordinairement consommée ?
Surimpressions — par décalques successifs et frénétiques — d’une « époque acidulée », captées par Etienne O’Leary, Pierre Clementi, Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, foyers agités de l’underground français des années 60-70. Mad Men est la série de l’heure aux États-Unis, et la preuve par l’exemple que la fiction télévisée n’a plus aucun complexe à avoir face à la production destinée au grand écran : en fait, au moins 95% de tout ce qui est conçu pour le circuit des salles au sud de nos frontières ne peut même pas se comparer, ni en qualité ni en intelligence, à cette émission remarquable qui élève d’un cran les standards même les plus exigeants de la meilleure télévision.
Une bonne part de l’histoire du cinéma d’avant-garde ou expérimental pourrait se lire comme l’histoire d’un retour aux « origines » du cinéma, tantôt du côté de chez Lumière, tantôt du côté de chez Méliès (même si cette distinction, on le sait, tend à fondre comme neige au soleil une fois qu’on y regarde de près). Radicale réinvention et ressourcement originaire forment un seul et même mouvement de création dans ce cinéma.
Lauréat du prix de la mise en scène au 63e Festival de Cannes – où il faisait partie de la Sélection officielle – le troisième film de Mathieu Amalric (qui incarne également le rôle principal) est un petit chef-d’œuvre d’insolence qui rejoue avec brio les clés du New Burlesque.

C’est cette triple allégeance (au jugement a priori sur la télé, aux vedettes bouche-trou et au public-alibi), pourrait-on dire, qui mine dans son actualisation l’idée derrière C’est juste de la tv, par ailleurs assez séduisante. Mais cela ne devrait pas trop nous surprendre : dans la mesure où c’est tout le paysage télévisuel en mutation qui semble se plier volontairement à cette stratégie dialectique entre le Quidam et la Star, il est dans l’ordre des choses qu’une émission qui s’adresse au même public et se positionne tel un miroir face à ses goûts et dégoûts finisse par en reproduire les tics majeurs.
